socialisation training- an important part of rehab.

Oscar is a very special lad who is only just over 1 year old but who has done amazingly well. He was taken from a home where he had witnessed domestic violence and was a nervous aggressive wreck who really didn’t know what to do or how to behave. It has taken a lot of time and patience to win this little lad around and turn him into the confident dog that he is now. He still has his issues and these and under continuous assessment and being worked on whilst he is in kennels with good progress.

Over Christmas Oscar suffered a serious setback, he contracted a nasty strain of kennel cough and was seriously ill. He lost a lot of weight and spent a lot of time with vets and his carers. He is now fully recovered, as you can see from his photo, and is now ready to move on to a home environment to complete his rehabilitation. He has been neutered and is vaccinated and microchipped.

Jenny is timid but very loving young dog who we rescued from the pound. She was found as a stray and like many dogs across the country, after being held for 7 days she was due to be destroyed.

She is approx 1yr old and is currently in foster care with 4 other dogs and 2 children being thoroughly assessed. She is a little strong on a lead but as a youngster she would benefit from some training having learnt the basics. Jenny is fine with children and loves to play, especially with a ball. She will make a fantastic addition to a family.

Bella is a beautiful 18 month old GSD X Rottie. She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Bella is a beautiful girl who was very nervous when she first came to us. She has grown in confidence and can now be very headstrong. As with most youngsters she can get carried away when playing so we would like to place her in a home with no small children. Mav is a real gentleman. He is 7yrs old entire male. Mav is settling well in his foster home and is currently living with another dog. He is vaccinated and microchipped and will be castrated before being rehomed. Mav is good with children, other dogs and cats. This adorable chap is being rehomed due to no fault of his own. He really is a joy to know.

This adorable chap has spent over half his life in rescue and is still waiting for a home of his own. He had been ill treated in one of his previous homes but that hasn’t affected his wonderful nature.

He is a 2yr old cross breed that was at risk of being PTS when EGSR took him in. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Tiggs is one of the friendliest dogs you will ever meet. He is currently in foster with a young child who he adores. Tiggs is fine to live with other dogs but he does react to dogs he meets when on a lead. He enjoys going to play at a doggy day care facility and has quite a following. He cannot live with cats.

Tiggs is a very strong lad and will need an owner who can handle walking a powerhouse. He is walked with the aid of a Dogmatic head collar. He has a good recall as long as not distracted. Some additional training would be recommended. Tiggs loves water and likes nothing better than laying down in muddy puddles whilst out walking!
